About the Program

The SDCEE Young Startup Entrepreneur Program is a 12-month entrepreneurship acceleration, powered by the Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship, Rotterdam. It aims to provide students, aged 15 and above, with the opportunity to develop the right entrepreneurial skills to help them setup their own venture in Dubai’s dynamic business ecosystem.

Students participating in this program will be issued a business license1 (issued by Dtec) with a plethora of benefits at no additional charges!

The program starts with a 3-week bootcamp which will enable students to develop their skills through Experiential Learning facilitated by course experts from the Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship (Rotterdam).

Besides being issued at no additional charge, the business license will include the following benefits and more:

Through the SDCEE Young Startup Entrepreneur Program, we aim to encourage students to optimize and utilize their skills in the real world by empowering them with the right knowledge and providing efficient tools and resources to help them build and scale their business idea.

We are committed to helping students optimize and utilize their skills in the real world through Experiential Learning, a unique teaching method, developed by the Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship, that highlights the importance and characteristics of innovation and entrepreneurship and encourages them to put the skills that they acquire to practice.

Upon completion of the bootcamp, students will receive a certificate from the Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship (Rotterdam, Netherlands) and the SD Centre for Entrepreneurship Excellence.

Bootcamp Features

The 3-week bootcamp will be conducted at the SDCEE Campus (Dtec) through 6-hour, classroom-based training (Monday to Friday).

This bootcamp is primarily aimed at encouraging aspiring entrepreneurs between the ages of 15 and 22 to develop the right skills to setup their business in Dubai; applications above this age range, however, will be evaluated on a case-to-case basis.

Through the 6-hour, daily classes, students will be able to identify market opportunities to start their venture, interact with industry leaders and mentors who can help them understand the right entrepreneurial mindset and focus on the importance of entrepreneurship development, empower their skills through ecosystem visits and pitching sessions, and much more!

But the learning doesn’t stop here! By the end of this bootcamp, the participants will be able to present their startup business idea before a jury of investors. This can give them an opportunity to acquire funding for their business idea as well. Moreover, with the business license issued for young entrepreneurs to kickstart their own venture, they can build further on their business idea and scale their venture in Dubai’s startup ecosystem.

Learning Method

The 3-week bootcamp follows the unique Experiential Learning method. This method encourages participants to take charge of managing their own learning trajectory.

While learning at the stellar SDCEE Campus, Dtec (DSO), participants will receive the required materials in class which can help them work on and build their startup idea. Participants would be able to learn and expand their horizons in a larger sense by experiencing the fundamentals of innovation and entrepreneurship.

With interactive sessions and peer-to-peer consultation, participants will be encouraged to actively participate in the program. Through its 3-week intensive bootcamp, the SDCEE Young Startup Entrepreneur Program aims to equip participants to put their acquired skills into practice right away, in addition to the understanding the fundamental differences between being an entrepreneur and a businessman, marketing your business, acquiring theoretical knowledge, and gaining insights about entrepreneurship and innovation. Orientation

The students will be given a clear understanding of the key concepts and entrepreneurial principles that will be followed by a networking session based in Dtec, DSO. The participants will get clarity on the roadmap of the program and the deliverables for each step. Moreover, they will be able to receive their business license and acquire the necessary skills to build and grow their venture.

Acquire the right skills

With the SDCEE Young Startup Entrepreneur Program, participants will be able to acquire the right business skills including evaluating business opportunities across various sectors, validating the problem-solution and product-market fit, engaging in customer discovery and validation, validating a business’ value proposition, using creative brainstorming techniques, developing and utilizing the Business Model Canvas and Delta, and applying the Build – Measure – Learn cycle.

Ecosystem visits

Every week, the participants will have an ecosystem visit in Dubai, where they will have the opportunity to interact with key stakeholders and contributors of the UAE’s entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Mentorship

With a total of 6 experienced mentors providing their in-person insights to each cohort, participants will get the opportunity to learn and discuss their ideas with some of the renowned industry veterans, to build solutions and profitable ventures.

Pitching sessions

On the final day of the 3-week program, participants would be able to make use of their learnings and pitch their idea to a jury of experienced investment professionals and even get an opportunity to receive funding for their business idea.

The facilitators of this program are from the esteemed Erasmus Centre of Entrepreneurship which executes various academic courses throughout the Netherlands along with the prestigious Erasmus University, Rotterdam.
